Responsibilities

This position requires insight and experience in a wide range of RF systems engineering tasks. These include but are not limited to terrestrial and SATCOM systems, RF wireless systems, and recent experience directly supporting Customers in a SETA role.  An essential requirement for this individual is to use their experience to identify performance and capability gaps of existing systems and new systems in development. This position also requires strong interpersonal and team environment skills, as well as some project management skills.  Document preparation and the ability to communicate effectively are also needed.

  • Be a self-starter with leadership capabilities and execution of roles and responsibilities with little to no supervision.
  • Require minimal oversight to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform traditional Systems Engineering at the enterprise/strategic level within the context of the political landscape, operational restrictions, and changes, and interacting systems across the customer’s organization.
  • Provide project management support with short turn-around projects; development of requirements, project plans, needs assessment, transition planning, and future looking roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, as well as handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve conflicts.
  • Have demonstrated strong customer and partner relationship building skills.
  • Have strong decision-making skills, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to perform pre-deployment spectrum surveys, analysis, and link budget calculations to help determine usable configurations.
  • Able to perform post-deployment spectrum surveys and analysis to perform troubleshooting on known/suspected issues.
  • Perform performance / state of health analysis.
  • Provide analysis of test data and recommend modifications to hardware, software, or configuration items.
  • Have working knowledge of RF/Satellite communication systems.
  • Familiarity with long range communication, both terrestrial and SATCOM
  • Have working knowledge of RF theory, and experience developing RF link budgets.
  • Have knowledge of and experience with configuration of RF parameters and how changing each parameter affects link performance.
  • Have the ability to understand mission requirements/needs, and steer RF development and equipment configuration appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with Poly required.
  • Experience/Degree: BS Degree with 12-15 years, MS Degree with 10-13 years, or PhD with 10+ years relevant experience. May consider experience in lieu of degree.
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or other relevant technical degree.
  • Experience with testing and/or operating RF equipment.
  • Experience within the Intelligence Community or DoD.
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries to collect and share information necessary to support mission objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to influence others toward a common goal/decision.
  • Proficient with MS tools.
